I will be gone from dA in a few days.

I will still continue to browse and leave comments, but I will no longer be posting my work here. When I have a new photo site, I will let you know!

Until then, watch www.fireflyphoto.ca, as we will have our business site up there soon!

Firefly Photography

Simon and I are now officially business owners!

Firefly Photography is registered with the government and ready to get rolling. :D

Still working on scanning 100s of pictures into the computer. So far I've scanned and sorted and renamed and edited all of our slides. The negatives far outweigh the slides, but they need some form of organization. Chucking them in the closet in the boxes they came back in isn't exactly effective... ;)

So if anyone in Vancouver wants a portrait taken, or if anyone anywhere wants to buy some prints, let us know. Pretty soon we'll have a jazzy webpage happening too!

Meh

I've got just over a month left on my subscription, but I think I'm going to kiss DA goodbye after that.

It's just such a crapfest. You can't avoid all the bitching and slander.

And it bloody pisses me off that it defaults to allowing people to put my photos on their phone? What's with that?

Wasn't this about art, once? I'm not going to keep feeding this corporation.

If anyone has suggestions for other photography sites, please let me know!

Scan Queen

:D :D :D I HAVE A NEW SCANNER! :D :D :D

Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 (oooooooo!)

Got it used from the lovely folks at Dunne and Rundle. It was only used for 5 months in their lab, in mint shape, with the box and all the trimmings. Paid $550, which is totally, totally a great deal. And it works like a charm!

So I'm thrilled (giddy, excited) to post a selection from my latest roll of Velvia 50. I'm in love with a couple of the shots... :aww:

I will also be scanning every a large portion of the shots Simon and I have taken over the past 3 years. I'm sure you can imagine that there are a FUCK OF A LOT of these! So I should be kept busy. BUT I will be putting a bunch up for sale once I get them sorted out so if there's one you have your eye on, let me know!

Happy to say that it's still Sunday, so I don't have to work today! Yehaw!

New Sub... and 11,000!

Tue Jun 14, 2005, 8:23 PM
THANK YOU to *lilcellogirlie for the subscription! What a lovely surprise. :aww:

It's amazing how difficult it is to navigate dA without a sub.

And looks like I'm about to hit 11,000 pageviews. Neat!

Back to my essay writing... grr...

PS: Chicago was awesome. Yay for The Get Up Kids live. What a great show! And it was great to see Derek again. Now, if he'd just move HERE, I'd get to see him all the time... ;) Pictures to come once I finish off my roll (Velvia 50! ooo!)
