The Office

  • Reading: Dirty Little Pretty (it's awesome)
  • Watching: THE OFFICE
Okay, I haven't updated my journal since last MARCH and I was getting sick of seeing it there... a pitiful reminder of how much I don't journal on DA...

Anywhoo... A few updates:

1. I started at Simon Fraser University in September and it's excellente.

2. I am going to Thailand with Simon next May. For 40 days. Holy shit. I can't wait! It'll be the furthest I have ever been from little ol' Canada, as well as the longest I've ever been away from home. Should be most awesome!

3. I am seriously addicted to the show The Office. Not even kidding. I watch like 2 episodes a day and then rewatch them with Simon when he feels like watching them. I'm only in the 2nd season, so don't you dare ruin anything for me. But if you haven't seen this show, you seriously need to start. Seriously.

4. I am applying to go to this HUGE Girl Guide camp next summer as the resident photographer. It's a pretty big deal and will be just amazing, so keep your fingers crossed on that one!

That's it... The rest is housecleaning (or not) and the ocassional taking of pictures. Which I need to scan. Yes.

Spring Time!

Fri Mar 24, 2006, 3:33 PM
I'm so happy that it's finally spring. Winter gets me so depressed... Blech.

But there are flowers and cherry blossoms and green grass and baby ducks. I love spring!

It is also good news for photography. The sun is actually out, and the days are longer!

I also only have two weeks of school... Weeeee...

I've posted a couple new photos of little Isabelle... who is growing up so fast! Thanks for your comments on those!

And I have good news for some of my other pictures! Some shots I've been taking at Girl Guides are going to be included in their latest ad campaign! It's all volunteer, but I think they are some of my best shots, and I'm very proud to see them displayed. Especially for helping out such a great organization!

ChainReading - Have You Joined?!

Wed Feb 8, 2006, 10:39 AM
If you haven't heard about ChainReading.com yet... here it is!

Sleek looking site that allows you to keep track of what books you are currently reading, what you are planning on reading and what you recommend to others. You can also suggest a book to anyone currently on the site, or to a friend who doesn't know about it yet via email. The site automatically creates an account for your friend, making it super easy for them to sign up!

Also uses tags and reviews so you can find books similar to the ones you like, or warn people about what you didn't like!

I've been reading so many more books after using this site, plus I can actually keep track of what people have suggested to me!

Check it out ChainReading.com

I've actually been out to take some pictures recently! The Chinese New Year parade was awesome, and I shot it on Velvia (I get those back this weekend). I also have some NPH shots of a local bird sanctuary (yay, chickadees!). I'm forcing myself to do homework today, but after that, I'll try to get some scanning done.

Oh where, oh where...

Wed Nov 9, 2005, 3:19 PM
...has my time for photography gone?! Damn!

When I realize that I'm spending 98% of my time doing things I don't want to be doing, it certainly makes me bitter...

There has been some great photos posted on DA lately... At least the ones I've been seeing!

Hoping my workplace burns down so I can take photos all day... ;)
